ISSA Personal Trainer Certificate
Growing up I struggled with body image and self-doubt. It was sports that helped me gain confidence in myself and my abilities. I competed in football, wrestling, and track during high school and realized the value of the physical activity. I started to seriously invest in my fitness journey when I was in my 20s and a friend asked me to work out at 5 am. The workouts were led by a certified trainer who offer free workouts using equipment that he kept in his car. From there I was hooked. I enjoyed the idea of pushing myself to see what I could accomplish and was fascinated by the creativity that could be used to stay fit.
The turning point for me was when I realized how much my younger self was impacted by feelings of self-doubt and poor body image. As a kid, I was awkward, struggled to make friends, and was teased due to my size, and these feelings of self-doubt would creep up into my adult life. I did the work mentally, emotionally, and physically to heal the younger version of me and I try to stay active so I can continue to be a support for others who may be in a similar situation.
I am passionate about supporting people to reach their mental and physical goals. Through fitness, I hope to help people become mentally, physically, and emotionally strong.
